Returns & Warranty
Important information about custom fabrication, natural weathering, returns and warranty support.
Custom Fabrication
Many COR10 products are made to order and manufactured to approved dimensions and design requirements.
Structural Warranty
Warranty information applies to structural and fabrication-related issues as described in the policy below.
Transit Damage
Delivered items should be inspected carefully and any damage documented and reported in accordance with the policy.
Custom & Made-to-Order Structural Pieces
Every 3D letter, architectural house number, custom sculpture, and designer letterbox is made-to-order or custom-configured to your specific dimensions and design requirements.
In accordance with Australian Consumer Law, we do not accept returns, cancellations, or exchanges for change of mind once manufacturing has commenced on custom or made-to-order products.
Understanding True Corten Steel & The Natural Weathering Process
True Corten steel is a weathering architectural material that undergoes a natural oxidation process when exposed to the elements. Variations in colour, texture and surface development are natural characteristics of the weathering process.
Patina Transition
Your Corten product may arrive in a raw, unweathered, dark grey steel state or with early stages of uneven spotting. The development of the characteristic orange-brown rust patina requires outdoor atmospheric exposure and typically takes approximately 4 to 12 weeks to settle, depending on local climate conditions.
Appearance Variations
The final colour, texture and speed of patina formation are dependent on environmental factors, including rainfall, humidity and coastal salt air. Variations in shading, patchiness or surface texture are natural aesthetic characteristics of weathering steel and do not constitute a product defect or failure.
Oxidation Runoff & Staining
During the initial weathering phase, rainwater may carry iron-oxide runoff from the surface of the metal. This runoff can permanently stain porous or light-coloured surfaces, including sandstone, concrete, light timber decking and paving.
Property owners are responsible for installing the product in an appropriate location and using suitable drainage or standoff systems to manage runoff.
Australian Consumer Law Guarantees & Structural Warranty
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
What is Covered
Structural failure of the steel plates, structural welds, laser-cutting integrity, and mechanical hinges or locks under normal residential deployment.
What is Not Covered
Surface cosmetic changes, the natural evolution of the Corten rust patina, rust runoff staining on external property, or damage caused by improper mounting, chemical exposure, or modifications made to the structure after it leaves our workshop.
Warranty period: The client-supplied document contains a placeholder for the applicable structural warranty period. Confirm the final number with COR10 before publication.
